The footballing world was surprised when Milan sold one of the world’s best supporting strikers, Ibrahimovic and one of the world’s best defenders, Thiago Silva to the French side, Paris-Saint Germain. Once again, Milan management made a controversial move in the transfer market, thus by rejecting the initial bid of £45M made by PSG for Silva only to accept the offer of £65M for both Silva and Ibrahimvic. Apart from finding the replacements for these two crucial players, Allegri has the tough task to also find the replacements for the departed legends like Clarence Seedorf, Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso and Filipo Inzaghi. The football betting odds on Milan are at an all time low.

Out of the Milan signings in this summer so far, Riccardo Montolivo and Bakaya Traore were the big moves. Montolivo enjoyed a great last season with Fiorentina and had a fantastic second-half Euro at Ukraine-Poland. Montolivo was used as a rare substitute for Italy in the group stages. But an injury suffered by Thiago Motta before the quarter-final game against England brought Montolivo into the pitch as a starter. Though Montolivo was playing in the right side of the midfield for Fiorentina, he was operated from the play-maker position. Despite of getting operated from an unfavorable position, Montolivo did the job of a play-maker very well. He ran into the crucial gaps and kept the ball moving. His performance in quarter-final has gained him opportunities to start in semis and finals ahead of Motta, who was available on these occassions. On the other hand, 27-year old Bakaye Traore is known for his tackling and passing abilities.

A thesis describing the signings, which will be boosting Milan’s power is discussed over here.

TOMAS NECID (CSKA Moscow):

Necid has been enjoying a fine run with CSKA Moscow, since his arrival to Russia on the January of 2009 at the age of 19. At Russia, Necid partnered Serbian midfielder, Milos Krasic and this partnership was working really well for CSKA. Necid-Krasic pair was known for their passing abilities and playing valuable 1-2’s. After the departure of Krasic in the summer of 2010 to Juventus, it was speculated that Necid would go unnoticed. But instead, he had two good back-to-back seasons. Necid had scored 8 european goals in the last two seasons.

Though Necid was included in the Czech Republic’s Euro 2012 squad, it was already expected that ageing Galatasaray striker, Milan Baros would be preferred ahead of him in their 4-2-3-1 formation. Also, it was thought that Necid would be contributing something for his country on entering as a substitute during the dying stages of the games. But, Michal Bilek provided a surprise by preferring Numberg’s striker, Tomas Pekhart as a substitute striker ahead of Necid and so, Necid didn’t play even a single minute for his country in the Euros. But as Baros has announced his retirement after the Euros, there will be no doubt in Necid getting the opportunity to lead the attack for his country in the world cup qualifiers.

Necid will perfectly fit in to Milan’s 4-4-2 formation, by playing alongside Cassano. Cassano in the left, Necid in the right and Montolivo behind them will be a real treat for eyes to watch a football game.

EDIN DZEKO (Manchester City):

The value of Edin Dzeko had came into the picture during the end of 2008-2009 season, where Dzeko-Grafite combo scored more than 50 goals to lead their club, Wolfsburg in winning a rare Bundesliga title. Dzeko was linked with various big clubs during the summer of 2009 for his fine previous season. But thinking of his regular starting place in champions league games, Dzeko rejected all those offers.

In the winter window of 2011, Dzeko urged his club to complete his move to Manchester City in order to find himself a place in the champions league of the upcoming season. Dzeko had a slow start with City. He had mixed emotions with the club, last season. The first half of the season was going pretty well for the Bosnian striker but his form was dipped during the rest of the season. However, Dzeko played a crucial role for Manchester City in winning their first EPL title in 42 years by scoring the equializer against QPR in the 92nd minute which brought the blues back into the game.

Dzeko scored a spectacular goal from outside the box for his country in the last game of the Euro 2012 qualifiers against France during the closing stages of first half. But, a controversial penalty awarded to France in the 79th minute of the game took away the dream of Bosnian fans in finding their country flag at Poland-Ukraine.

As of  now, as things stand, though Mancini claims Dzeko will be a Manchester City player for the next season, his agent has been reportedly approaching the Italan giants-Milan and Juventus. The signature of Dzeko will be a perfect replacement for the departed Sweden striker, Ibrahimovic. It is the time for Milan to take advantage on Edin dzeko, as they can spend more in the fact of having plenty of money in their hands.

LUCAS BIGLIA (Anderlecht)

Anderlecht has been serving as an icon in producing plenty of young talented footballers in the recent times-Kompany and Lukaku are the examples. In this way, the next player to be proceeded is the Argentine defensive midfielder, Lucas Biglia. Biglia is considered as a football heaven by Anderlecht fans. He is well known for his aerial tackling, passing accuracy, long-range shooting and delivering perfect penalties. i.e., Biglia has all the qualities of a talented footballer should posses.

Biglia featured for Argentina in 2011 Copa America. He played just one game in the competition for Argentina and after the grand tournament, he didn’t return to represent his country. A question will arise now-Why a talented player hadn’t called up to represent his country for more than a year. The answer is simple-Javier Mascherano. The quality of Mascherano was something better than Biglia and for that reason, Barcelona midfielder has been preferred ahead of 25-year old Biglia.

By following the Belgian Pro League for a season, what I have found is, another Gattuso in Biglia. The playing style of both of these defensive midfielder looks almost as the same. As Gattuso was departed and Anderlecht has announced the Biglis is for sale, it is the perfect time for Allegri to bring the Argentine international to San Siro.

MICHAL KADLEC (Bayer Leverkusen):

The departures of Thiago Silva and Alessandro Nesta have certainly pulled Allegri to sign a talented profilic defender. Czech Republic defender, Kadlec will be a very good signing for Milan in this summer window. Though Kadlec can also play as left-back, he is very widely used as the centre-back. Kadlec enjoyed a good last season in Leverkusen along with his country mate pilar. Forming the heart of the defense with Freidrich, Kadlec played a crucial role in Leverkusen’s champions league compaign last season. The way he handled Drogba at Leverkusen was excellent.

Kadlec was called up for the Czech Republic’s Euro squad. He played each and every minute for his country in the tournament, partnering Beskitas defender, Tomas Sivok

The remarkable contribution of Kadlec in Euros was the clearance he made with his head off the shot of Blaszczykowski in the last minute of added time in the last group stage match against Poland. As Cech ran forward to catch the ball, Blaszczykowski used the space of nets and he delivered a shot. But keeping eyes on the ball, Kadlec ran backwards and headed brilliantly to clear it off.

Kadlec signing will be an excellent addition to the Milan side.

As most of the Milan front-line players had left the club in this transfer window, Allegri has to rebuild the team with the signings of talented players. The players discussed above are of absolute class and the addition of these players will certainly keep Milan as one of the top clubs in Europe.
