Brendan Rodgers is about to complete his first signing as the Liverpool boss, by completing the signature of AS Roma striker Fabio Borini, very soon.  Borini is at Merseyside to discuss personal terms after a fee of about 12m was agreed with Roma for the 21 year old striker.

Borini will now undergo a medical test at Melwood training ground, and Liverpool will be hoping to complete his signature before they leave for their pre-season tour of USA. Another player heavily linked with Liverpool is Clint Dempsey of Fulham. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool goes on its tour of USA with one or two new signings.

Newly promoted side Reading FC’s manager Brian McDermott has been really busy in the transfer market, having completed 5 new signings already, and is reportedly  keen on strengthening his defense now by signing highly rated Watford defender Adrian Mariappa and Newcastle defender Danny Simpson, before they leave for their pre-season tour of Portugal. Milan have turned their attention again to Manchester City’s controversial striker Carlos Tevez. The 28 year old is one of their top targets now, but they may be forced to look at other options such as his City team-mate Edin Dzeko or Liverpool’s Andy Carroll, if they are unable to land the Argentine.

According to reports, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs have agreed a deal for Emmanuel Adebayor. The Togolese marksman, who was on loan at White Hart Lane last season, impressed with 18 goals and 12 assists for Spurs. AVB is keen on keeping the 28 year old, after their other star players Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, look set to leave Spurs this summer. Real Madrid are the favorites to sign the Croatian Star for close to
£35 million, but it is reported in the media that PSG manager Carlo Ancelloti has Modric on his radar as well.

Finally, the out of favor Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has attracted interest from Turkish side Galatasary. The Bulgarian could be sold for as little as £5 million. Berbatov was the highest scorer in the 2010/11 BPL season, however he only started 5 games for the Manchester club last season after he fell down the pecking order with Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez being preferred over him by Sir Alex Ferguson.
