A well Deserved Home Record

Players of Asante Kotoko are extremely glad to have finished the 2011/12 Glo Premier League without conceding defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Speaking to Kotoko Express after the colourful coronation in Kumasi skipper Isaac Amoako lauded his colleagues for their dedication and effort which saw Kotoko finishing the season as champions and unbeaten at their backyard.

“It has been a long journey but we have finally arrived at victory. I thank my colleagues, coaches, management and the supporters for their wonderful work done” he reiterated.

The Porcupine Warriors played 16 games at the Baba Yara Stadium including their third week fixture against Bechem United which was technically an away game for Kotoko because the Bechem lads were using the Baba Yara Stadium as their home grounds by then.

Out of the 16 games Kotoko won 13 against Ashgold (3-0), Bechem United (3-2), Heart of Lions (2-0), Mighty Jets (1-0), Wassaman (4-0), Dwarfs (1-0), Berekum Chelsea (1-0) Medeama (2-1), Liberty 2-0, Wa All Stars 2-0, Hearts of Oak 2-1, Bechem United 4-3 and Tema Youth 1-0.

The team drew the remaining three games against Aduana Stars (0-0), New Edubiase (1-1)  and Berekum Arsenals (1-1).

Amoako assured that they would not relent in their preparations since they really want to go places next season. After helping Kotoko to win two premiership titles in 2007/08 and 2011/12, the agile goalie says his ultimate for now is to help Kotoko conquer Africa and he is hoping to achieve this in the CAF Champions League next season.
