All roads leads to South Africa during the off season.

Executive Chairman, Dr. K. K. Sarpong has hinted that Asante Kotoko could be travelling to South Africa to participate in a four-club tourney being organized in honour of South Africa’s most revered leader Nelson Mandela. The four clubs invited for the tournament are Asante Kotoko from Ghana, English Premiership side, Manchester United, Sundowns and Amazulu – both South African Premier League clubs.

“Nobody should rest. I charge Coach Maxwell Konadu to draw a programme for the off-season. It is likely we will go to South Africa to play in a tournament in honour of Nelson Mandela” the Executive Chairman said at the weekend.

Dr. Sarpong said it would be a huge honour for any member of the team to participate in that competition considering the reputation and respect the popular South African leader commands across the world. He thus urged every member of the playing body to continue working hard to be part of the team for the competition scheduled to come off from the 20-22 May, 2012.

“It is a big honour. It is something you would wish to have. You all have to work hard to be part of the team” said Dr. K. K. Sarpong.
